Chiropractic Office Review: Hot Seating

Brisbane Chiropractic. Brisbane CBD ChiropracticI have noticed an interesting new trend in workplaces recently. A concept known as hot seating is becoming more common in offices in the city. The concept of hot seating is that rather than having a set desk and office space, office workers move work space on a daily basis. While this may work from an HR perspective and make office places cheaper to manage, from a chiropractic and postural health perspective this poses a number of problems to office workers. In my chiropractic practices I am seeing some office workers in hot seating arrangements coming in with a number of postural issues such as neck pain, headaches, thoracic and lower back pain. This simply stems from the fact that when moving workspace on a daily basis they are never able to make and maintain the necessary adjustments to their computers, chairs and desks to maintain a healthy spine when at work. My chiropractic recommendations are to try and avoid this type of seating arrangement or find a way of making the necessary adjustments to your desk set up on a daily basis so you don’t end up with any aches and pains associated with poor posture.
